Mr. Karl F Conyard

CHS, BSc.BHS, MPH & FRSPH

Clinical Epidemiologist, Statistician, Researcher, Clinical Manager, Teacher and Student Physician.


Karl F. Conyard is the Core Curriculum Programme ASPHER Fellow at the UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy, and Sports Science. Where he has linked in with over 130 schools and institutes of public health, linkedin with key global players in public health (ECDC / WHO Europe) and has co-led the creation, development and the work on the Core Curriculum for Public Health at ASPHER.


He holds a BSc in Health and Society from Dublin City University (DCU) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from University College Dublin (UCD). Additionally, he has earned the RCSI Certificate in Lifestyle Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (UK) and the Royal Statistical Society (UK). He is also an Affiliate Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). 


Before joining ASPHER, Karl worked in population health and epidemiology, serving as a National Operations Manager within Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE). In this role, he oversaw the national specialised clinical contact tracing team as part of the COVID-19 Contact Management Programme (CMP).


His early career began in auxiliary nursing and care, providing him with frontline healthcare experience both in public and private sectors.


Karl’s professional interests and expertise include Public health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Advanced Research Methodology, Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Public Health Service Management, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Healthcare Education, Health Services Research and Infectious Disease Management.
