ASPHER Honours Platform

On 19th December 2005, the ASPHER Executive Board established an ASPHER Honours Platform comprising the Association's Past Presidents and Andrija Stampar Medalists.

Stampar Medalists and Past Presidents represent a considerable wealth of experience and knowledge in terms of management of the Association and strategies for public health capacity development in Europe. The Association can benefit greatly from such a resource. The Honours Platform provides the framework and structure for the collaboration between ASPHER and its Past Presidents and the Stampar Medalists.

Aim of the Honours Platform:

To serve as a forum for discussion, advice and proposals on present and potential activities undertaken by ASPHER, to create the conditions for improving the documentation of the history of the Association, and to "keep in touch" more formally with the Association's Past-Presidents and Andrija Stampar Medalists.

The mission of The Honours Platform is to support ASPHER by:

  1. Giving recommendations when requested to do so by the President or the Executive Board;
  2. Taking initiative to comment on and give advice on developments concerning the themes of ASPHER’s mission;
  3. By request and as far as possible participate in ASPHER’s projects, programmes and activities;
  4. Participating in Executive Board meetings by specific invitation;
  5. Participating in ASPHER’s General Assembly and Deans’ & Directors’ Retreat;
  6. Producing an annual report to report on the work of the platform and to comment on ASPHER’s work.
